Use your debriefing skills / raise your profile

book club brene brown phd Apr 20, 2024

Calling Mental Health students and professionals. I need a few volunteer colleagues to attend my PhD data collection online Brene Brown book clubs incase a participant needs an immediate debrief. Your job is to take any triggered or emotionally hooked participants into a breakout room to help ground and remind them of where to seek further help.

Attendance, plus pre and post contact with myself, can be used toward Continuing Professional Development hours (or placement hours with the permission of your agency and university). You will receive a certificate of appreciation, and a copy of the published book once the PhD project is completed.

This is ideally suited to practitioners needing more visibility/social proof of involvement in higher degrees by research, or Counselling, Social Work and Psychology students in their final year and on placement/internships. Your involvement goes onto your CV as involvement in a project in partnership with Charles Darwin University and Typeface Books.

Attend one, two or more book clubs as a volunteer. You do not have to had read the book - your job is as a support to participants who may be triggered by discussions. While it is most unlikely that discussions will trigger participants, ethically I want to be able to offer a debrief and ear immediately.  Further information about the PhD project here

Contact me for a discussion asap. I will require a CV or resume and a reference to contact.
