Read to Heal: Bibliotherapy at an online Book Club

bibliotherapy book club Dec 29, 2024

Our online Bibliotherapy book club meets the third Wednesday of every month, at 6pm AEST (Brisbane time). Open to all. Read to heal, learn and grow. Read for purpose. Read dangerously. Read to discuss. Just read to find yourself in a book...and let's have some discussions around whatever the book makes you question, learn or think about. Held on Zoom every third Wednesday evening of the month, each month's book is chosen for its psychoeducative and bibliotherapeutic content.

Here's the zoom link to join every third Wednesday of the month at 6pm AEST (Brisbane time):  https://charlesdarwinuni.zoom.us/j/81356480647?pwd=glvnC8Hlh8U62Z0K8Ui83bDXp1VEnr.1 The passcode, should you need it is 760178.

March 19th's book is: The Wartime Book Club by Kate Thompson. Facilitated by myself, Megan Bayliss. Here's my book review. I am keen to hear your insights, reflections, analytical thinking, and emotional responses to this story.

April 16th's book is Emotional Storms by Anne Maree Taney, facilitated by the author herself, Anne Maree Taney (or Megan Bayliss if Anne Maree is off travelling for her PhD research). This book is suitable for anyone dealing with behavioural meltdowns in children. Written for classroom teachers, the practical suggestions cross into everyday life outside of a classroom. Perfect for therapists, support workers and parents.

May 21st - New book. The Sisterhood Paradox by Vanessa Vershaw. Pre order now.

June 18th's book is a poem: The Owl and the Pussy-Cat by Edward Lear. Facilitated by  Khadine Aharon. Diversity, equity, and inclusion like you may never have thought of them. Khadine's favourite book from childhood has guided her life's work.
